Our Model

At The Village Indiana, we believe lasting transformation happens through relationships, community support, and shared responsibility. That belief is the foundation of our HUB/H.U.T.S. Model, a community based mentoring framework designed to surround youth and families with consistent care, leadership, and opportunity.

What Is a HUB?

A HUB is a trusted community location that serves as a home for mentoring and community connection. HUBS are established through our Village Alliance network, a partnership of local churches, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations that open their spaces and collaborate with The Village Indiana to support youth and families.

These HUBS create safe, consistent, and accessible environments where mentoring relationships can grow and communities can work together to meet the needs of young people.

Rather than operating from one central location, The Village Indiana builds a network of HUBS throughout communities so youth and families can experience support close to home.

What Are H.U.T.S.?

Inside each HUB are mentoring communities called H.U.T.S., which stands for:

  • Healing
Helping youth and families navigate challenges, trauma, and life experiences through trusted relationships and supportive community.
  • Uplifting
Encouraging confidence, hope, and self worth while helping students discover their voice and potential.
  • Transforming
Developing leadership, character, life skills, and healthy decision making that lead to lasting change.
  • Strengthening
Building stronger youth, stronger families, and stronger communities through accountability, mentorship, and connection.

Each H.U.T.S. group is intentionally designed to create meaningful relationships between mentors and mentees through consistent gatherings, leadership development, life discussions, educational support, community service, and positive shared experiences.

How the HUB/H.U.T.S. Model Works

The HUB/H.U.T.S. Model combines trusted community spaces with transformational mentoring relationships.

  • The Village Alliance provides the HUBS through local partners.
  • The H.U.T.S. provide the mentoring structure and relational support inside those HUBS.
  • Mentors, families, schools, churches, and community leaders work together to support the whole child and strengthen the community around them.

This model allows The Village Indiana to build a citywide and statewide mentoring ecosystem where young people are consistently surrounded by caring adults, positive opportunities, and life giving community.

The HUB/H.U.T.S. Model is more than a program. It is a movement focused on rebuilding the village, one relationship, one family, and one community at a time.
